Earl Grey Overnight Oatmeal

Tea-infused oatmeal is the new fad for breakfast foods! Well…maybe not yet, but it will be after you try this Earl Grey Overnight Oatmeal. Deliciously creamy and earthy, it’s a delight to wake up to this every morning. 

Good morning! Hopefully you’re rested and feeling excited to start another week! Are you? 

I know I’m just as guilty as the next of waking up on a Monday morning very begrudgingly. Dragging my feet to get ready for work and then realizing I’m running late, so quickly throwing together breakfast for Paul and myself. Somehow between the door and the car it takes 10 minutes. And work always seems to be farther than I estimated so we’re racing through yellow lights, me with coffee in my hand and doing my best to make it to work without spilling it and getting a big stain on my pants. Then the day begins without a chance to catch my breath from the rush…and it’s like that until 5 PM when Paul picks me up and we head home, still exhausted, to make dinner. 

But what if things were different? Check out this alternate Monday morning…

You wake up on your own, fully refreshed, ready to start the day! Actually, you wake up naturally a little early giving yourself time for prayer and meditation before the week begins. Then, you prep a delicious and hearty breakfast, ensuring you have strength and energy to make it through the morning. You arrive at work promptly and the day unfolds as planned, no hiccups. You loved every second of your job and left work only more excited to return the next day. 

That sounds a little crazy, right? A little too good to be true? 

But what if that were the case? Instead of just wanting to get through the day and week you actually wanted to be at work. What if each day enriched your soul instead of draining it? Each day, you wake up feeling more alive than the last and ready to live life to the fullest! 

I’ve had days when I just did not feel fulfilled in my job…Days when all I wanted to do was follow my dreams. Thinking of all of the things I want to do with my life just made me discouraged because they seem to far away to ever be a reality. You relating with me right about now?


What if your day job you’re at right now is where you’re supposed to be, even if it’s just for the time being? 

Just because you’re in one place right now does not mean you have to be there your whole life. But it also doesn’t mean that you can’t be happy in a less than desirable place of your life, either. Never quit dreaming for the future, but don’t let your dreams keep you from putting your all into your present. 

Speaking of present…let’s get back to Overnight Oatmeal! It’s a great step towards waking up more ready-to-go any day of the week because it’s prepped the night before. I’m an oatmeal lover at heart…all kinds, all flavor combos, all times of the day. You can ask Paul, I eat oatmeal for breakfast most mornings because of it’s hearty quality that keeps me full until lunch when I’m busy working, and for the million and one flavor combinations you can create! 

One of my recent faves is this Earl Grey Overnight Oatmeal. Ever had a London Fog at a coffee shop? It’s basically an Earl Grey tea latte with honey and vanilla. Delish! So naturally, combining two faves of mine is a thing I like to do, and thus created this oatmeal.  It’s earthy flavor of tea infused into creamy vanilla almond milk and sweetened with honey…mmmm. But the best thing? No pulling the pot out in the morning to have breakfast ready as you’re racing off to work, this oatmeal is all ready to go when you wake up and steeps all night to create a creamy bite each time. All you have to do is pull it out of the fridge in the morning and top with a dollop of greek yogurt and some berries of your choice. Literally brilliant!

Earl Grey Overnight Oatmeal

Print Recipe
Serves: 1 Cooking Time: overnight


  • 1/2 cup gluten free old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbs chia seeds
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag
  • toppings: greek yogurt, berries, more honey



In a mason jar, combine oats and chia seeds.


Pour almond milk into microwavable measuring cup and microwave for 1 minute.


Once heated, place tea bag in milk and allow to steep for 2 minutes.


While steeping, add honey and vanilla to milk.


Once tea is well infused, use a spoon and press tea bag to the side of the measuring cup to make sure all the tea is infused.


Pour tea-milk mixture into oats and stir to combine.


Place in refrigerator overnight.


In the morning top with yogurt, berries, and more honey, or any other toppings you like.
